Mango
Plant Leather

A mango-biomass material for considered design, sampling and product development.

Material overview

From mango biomass to material.

Mango agricultural biomass meets a biopolymer system, textile backing and engineered surface finish. HappiGreens helps buyers evaluate constructions, source samples and coordinate development for the intended application.

Material
Mango agricultural biomass combined with a biopolymer system, textile backing and engineered surface finishing.
Construction
Supplier describes 50% mango pulp and 50% biopolymer with cotton textile backing and surface coatings. The ratio's basis and its relation to the total finished composite are pending confirmation.
Surface
Matte, gloss and satin finishes; smooth, grained, embossed, perforated, quilted and woven-effect references. Custom colour and print development is supplier-stated, subject to feasibility.
Format
Supplier-stated width 110–140 cm. Tested thickness range 0.8–3.5 mm; routine commercial sheet states 0.8–2.0 mm. Confirm the production construction and tolerances.

Colour & surface library

A spectrum of surfaces.

Original material-surface imagery from the supplied collection. Colours and grains are visual references, not fixed specifications; confirm with physical swatches.

Application pathways

Develop for the end use.

01

Handbags & totes

Structured bags and totes shown in the supplied portfolio; validate the chosen construction against the design.

02

Wallets & small goods

Wallets, cardholders, watch straps, journals, covers and tech sleeves are shown as development references.

03

Belts & accessories

Belts, backpacks and luggage panels need grade-specific prototyping and wear assessment.

04

Footwear & apparel

Footwear uppers and apparel panels are development areas only. Dry cracking and severe wet cracking at 30,000 flex cycles require construction-specific validation before use.

Technical dossier

Supplier-provided CSIR-CLRI laboratory results.

Reported figures only, not certification. The complete signed report, sample identity and test conditions have not been supplied. Dry and wet flex observations are especially relevant for repeated-flex applications.

Sampling & production

Plan the next step.

Evaluation
Supplier pack shows 30 × 30 cm sample and evaluation kit; availability and lead time to be confirmed.
Custom development
Supplier-indicated approximately 4.6 m² / 50 sq ft for a custom colourway; confirm by construction.
Commercial orders
Supplier-indicated approximately 100 m² / 1,000 sq ft, with approximately 45 days production lead time; reconfirm per order.

Care & handling

Preserve the surface.

Keep dry
Avoid prolonged water contact and high humidity. Wipe moisture promptly with a soft cloth.
Clean gently
Use a soft, slightly damp cloth. Do not soak or use harsh chemicals.
Dry naturally
Air-dry away from heaters, hair dryers and direct sunlight.
Store & handle
Store flat in a clean, dry, ventilated place. Avoid oils, sharp objects, excessive stretching and sharp creasing.

Important material note

Evaluate before specifying.

These technical figures are transcribed from supplier-provided laboratory summaries, not from a complete signed report; sample identity and test conditions require confirmation. The 50/50 formulation is not a verified whole-material composition. No claim of plastic-free, fully bio-based, biodegradable, certified vegan, specific carbon or water savings, or service life is made here. Confirm the exact tear method, heat conditions, abrasion end point, construction and application-specific performance before specification. The supplied finished-product portfolio carries an NDA notice and its photographs are not reproduced here pending explicit publication permission.
